Our Mission & History
DiscoverOrg’s mission is to create a revolution in sales that transforms the global B2B economy. We empower sales and marketing teams by giving them the right information, the right technology, and the insight on the right time to contact prospects.
By democratizing prospective customer information and making it available to companies of all sizes, we level the playing field so that competitive advantages are not based on relationships, insider information, or company size but instead solely predicated on delivering the best products, ideas and value. Moreover, we accelerate global innovation by helping companies achieve faster revenue growth, reducing their cost of sales, and ensuring that businesses have access to the best products and services that help them succeed.
The History of DiscoverOrg
Henry Schuck and Kirk Brown – two entrepreneurs on a mission to revolutionize the sales intelligence space – launched DiscoverOrg in a small, upstairs room in Ohio in 2007. Working with no venture capital or external funding, Henry and Kirk bootstrapped the company’s early stage and devoted themselves to evangelizing their innovative approach to growth-oriented enterprises, SMBs, and startups.
The DiscoverOrg concept resonated with the marketplace and quickly gained traction with top sales and marketing professionals. From just three employees (including Henry and Kirk), DiscoverOrg quickly grew and strategically relocated to Vancouver, Washington in 2009.
2017 will mark the 10 year anniversary for the company and a milestone of nearly 350 employees – a testament to the tremendous growth and culture at DiscoverOrg. Over the years, DiscoverOrg has also racked up numerous awards including being on the Inc 500 and 5000 lists (9 times combined), 2 time winner of the Deloitte Fast 500 Technology Award, as well as SIIA CODiE Award for Best Sales and Marketing Intelligence Solution in 2014.
