At DiscoverOrg, we utilize a team of research analysts to gather all of our data firsthand through telephone interviews with our profiled companies. Our researchers are trained to maintain the highest ethical standards in conducting these interviews. DiscoverOrg researchers will never misrepresent their purpose or use any inappropriate means of gathering data. This is a painstaking process, but the value we provide is bridging the information gap and helping business get done. We will never include home addresses or any other information about any person in our database that is not related to a business purpose, for example, information regarding: race or ethnic origin; political opinions; religious or other similar beliefs; trade union membership; physical or mental health; sexual life; or criminal record.

Data Security

SSAE16-CSAE3416-ISAE5204-CertificationsDiscoverOrg’s data is hosted by third-party datacenters that are compliant with standards of SSAE 16, CSAE 3416, and ISAE 3402. These accreditations reflect controls commonly referred to as Type II. This means our datacenters have undergone independent, in-depth audits of control activities, including how hosting and network technologies and services are managed.

Our database is tested semi-annually by a third-party “white hat” penetration and vulnerability consultant to ensure the security of our systems is up to date.

Anti-Spam Laws

We contractually require our clients to comply with applicable law in contacting any one from our database, including anti-spam legislation. Anti-spam laws are typically applied in the location where the message is received. Thus, when our clients email contacts located in the U.S. they are required to comply with the CAN-SPAM Act, while clients emailing contacts located in Canada must comply with CASL.
