Last week Crouse Hospital announced the promotion of healthcare IT industry leader Kim Rose to the role of Chief Information Officer from her previous position as Director, Information Technology. Rose will be responsible for both the hospital and its affiliates, Crouse Medical Practice and Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
Technology and Patient Care
Like most healthcare facilities, Crouse Hospital is focused on utilizing advances in technology to improve patient care. In her previous role, Rose led the implementation of a patient portal and computerized physician order entry system. As Chief Information Officer, she will turn her attention to the implementation of a new Soarian EMR system, physician integration, and other health IT initiatives.
Changing Priorities in Healthcare
Kimberly Boynton, Chief Executive Officer said, “How healthcare is delivered is changing rapidly, and success will be dependent on systems and technology that allow for integration, greater connectivity and data sharing across the entire healthcare continuum, not just the hospital.”
Boynton also shared that the increasing focus on population health management, patient engagement, and clinical quality are all dependent on a strategic IT focus.
Healthcare IT Industry Leader
Rose holds a master’s degree in information resource management from Syracuse University. She has been with Crouse Hospital since 2012 and has participated in several major technology initiatives during her tenure, including the adoption of MyHealthChart, a new Emergency Department patient tracker system, and medication administration systems.
