IT Industry Alert: Quest Diagnostics Names New CIO in Series of Leadership Appointments

admin-ajaxLidia Fonseca was recently named as Quest Diagnostics’ newest Chief Information Officer as the company traverses through a series of senior leadership appointments aiming to strengthen the management team and execute the company’s five-point business strategy.

The strategy is designed to:

  • Refocus on its core diagnostic information services business
  • Drive operational excellence
  • Restore growth
  • Simplify the organization
  • Deliver disciplined capital deployment.

IT industry leader Fonseca will now serve as the company’s Senior Vice President and CIO.

Fonseca will report to Steve Rusckowski, President and CEO, and James Davis, who was recently named Senior Vice President of Operations. Fonseca will be a member of the company’s Senior Management Team.

“Lidia has a proven track record leading strategic IT operations in healthcare and I’m very pleased she is joining the Quest Diagnostics team,” said Rusckowski. “Her extensive expertise in big data, automation and building outstanding client experiences will help drive growth.”

Prior to joining Quest Diagnostics, Fonseca served most recently as Chief Information Officer at LabCorp. She served as an Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Technology at Synarc, Inc., and also held a series of IT industry and supply chain leadership positions at Philips Healthcare.

Fonseca received her MBA and Master of Business Informatics from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus Graduate School of Business and her BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
