This Week’s Top Finance Leadership Move:

One of the biggest enablement tools you can leverage to help speed up your sales cycle is the Triggers available through DiscoverOrg – knowing exactly who to get in touch with, when, and how. Last week one of the world’s largest motion picture exhibitors, Cinemark Holdings, named Sean Gamble as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Gamble will begin his tenure as CFO beginning on August 25th. He will succeed Robert Copple, former CFO, who was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer in January. Gamble’s job is to change the face of the company. Can you help?

Cinemark to Continue to Grow & Prosper

“We are thrilled to welcome Sean to our Cinemark family. His diverse business background will be an outstanding addition to our Cinemark team,” said Tim Warner, Cinemark’s CEO. “In his new role, Sean will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial performance, managing the company’s global financial departments and developing key partnerships within the financial community that will help Cinemark continue to grow and prosper.”

“I look forward to focusing on Robert’s transition to President and COO once he is no longer acting as CFO. Robert has played a key role in building Cinemark into the company it is today; one of the leading exhibition companies in the world,” said Warner, “He will be working with our talented senior management team and our President of Cinemark International, Valmir Fernandes, on key global strategic initiatives.”

Seasoned Industry Expert

Prior to joining Cinemark, Gamble spent five years at NBCUniversal as their Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Gamble was responsible for overseeing the company’s global financial operations. Before NBCUniversal, Gamble held multiple senior level positions with General Electric. From 2007-2009, Gamble served as Chief Financial Officer of General Electric Oil & Gas. There he was responsible for all financial aspects and operations of the company’s equipment business.

“I’m excited to join Tim, Robert and the exceptional Cinemark team,” said Gamble. “It’s a privilege to become part of such a well-established global organization and have the opportunity to help further Cinemark’s impressive track record of growth and outperformance.”

Strong Studio Perspective

Gamble earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

“Sean brings a wealth of industry experience to Cinemark and he is well-suited to oversee Cinemark’s financial operations,” said Copple. “His leadership experience and studio perspective will provide critical support to the executive management team in developing and executing the company’s financial strategies.”

As Gamble works to maintain and grow the company’s financial performance, you’d be wise to leverage your sales enablement tools, and reach out to him in the first few months of his tenure as CFO. Leadership moves are great indication that the company is looking to restructure and rebuild, and are therefore more open to buying opportunities. Do you have someone working this account already? If not, now’s the time to pick up the phone.
