Therace Risch – Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Reports to:
Marvin R. Ellison – Chief Executive Officer – JCPenney

Risch joined JC Penney at the end of 2015 – her compensation only reflects what she made in the month of December – we assume that this massive compensation was tied to some kind of buyout of existing stock options or bonuses that she had to forego from Country Financial when she took over the role at JC Penney.

In her previous role as EVP and CIO at COUNTRY Financial, Risch was responsible for all aspects of consumer technologies to support the insurance and investment needs of over one million households and businesses. She was also responsible for all technology strategies and planning, as well as data security. Prior to COUNTRY Financial, Risch spent 10 years at Target Corporation in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility, including vice president of technology delivery services.

Therace and her team have been busy in 2016 working on some of the following Projects:

  • Ongoing initiatives related to the development of big data infrastructure to support omnichannel initiatives for the company’s eCommerce platform.
  • Implementing Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) version 14.1 at the company’s Plano, TX headquarters.
  • Exploring cloud strategies aimed to enable the utilization and access of data across applications on all converged systems.
  • Planning to expand, build, and deploy infrastructure to enable the incorporation of desktop and mobile applications into the company’s build environment.
  • Migrating and upgrade from Microsoft Windows Server 2003 to Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2.
