This guide walks through the steps to connect RainKing to Pardot. Once complete you will have the option to push contacts directly to Program Lists or the Database in Pardot from RainKing.

What We Need:

  • The Pardot connection enabled by RainKing
  • Access to your Pardot API User Key

Steps to Connect:

Once the connection is enabled by RainKing, the Pardot connector will be found in RainKing under the Administrator icon

Click on Pardot tile to access the Pardot login. Here you’ll need your Pardot email, Pardot password, and Pardot User Key

The Pardot User Key can be found in Pardot under Settings:

Enter credentials and Pardot User Key, then click Authenticate:

This will connect RainKing to your Pardot

Complete Data Mapping & Save by clicking on the Mapping tab:

On the Mapping tab, RainKing will auto-map to standard fields in your Pardot.  Scroll down the list of field mappings and confirm mappings or make any changes. RainKing fields are listed to the left, your Pardot fields to the right of that. Use the drop-downs in the “Pardot Field” section to make any changes to field mappings:

To the far right of each field mapping, the “Details” section will tell you the field type as it’s being pushed from RainKing – it’s important that the field type coming from RainKing align with the field type in your Pardot:

To the right of the “Details” section you can set field update logic.  Set the radio button in this section to “Never” or “Always” update with RainKing content depending on how you want RainKing to update data in your Pardot:

At the bottom of the field mappings is the “Source Tracking” section – here you can set Lead Source.  When a Lead Source field is mapped, you’ll get the option to write-in the value that you want passed for Lead Source tracking:

Finally, once all field mappings are set and update logic determined, select to “Save Mapping” at the bottom of the screen:

You’ll then see a note at the top of the screen indicating that the Pardot Data Map has been successfully saved:

 How to export to Pardot:

With the Data Mappings saved your connection from RainKing to Pardot is now set.  On any People view in RainKing now – you’ll have the option to export People from RainKing to Pardot:

As records are exported from RainKing to Pardot, you’ll get a pop-up message that the records have been sent to Pardot:

The records will come into your Pardot with all mapped fields from RainKing:

How to view transfer history:

This tab is where you can review records pushed from RainKing to Pardot:
