RainKing’s sectors and industries can be filtered by NAICS or SIC codes, or by RainKing’s Sector and Industry definitions.  NAICS is 6-digit code system that is currently the standard used by federal statistical agencies in classifying establishments (individual business locations). NAICS organizes establishments into industries according to the similarity in the processes used to produce goods or services.  SIC is a 4-digit code system for classifying industries, and is a legacy predecessor to NAICS.  Sector and Industry definitions are RainKing-curated categories referring to general segments of the economy used to categorize large groups of companies and specific segments of the economy within those large groups, respectively.
