Conservative states are more progressive when it comes to female CEOs

Politically liberal states are not necessarily so progressive when it comes to gender diversity in the C-suite, a new poll found.

Conservative Montana, which has cast its three electoral votes for Democratic presidential candidates only twice since 1952, has the highest percentage of women in the executive suite at 40.9 percent, according to the survey conducted by DiscoverOrg.

One-third of executives in Alaska, a red state with a higher male/female ratio than any other in the United States (52 percent), are women. Alabama, which has voted overwhelmingly Republican in the last 10 elections, came in at 29.84 percent.
