Derek was DiscoverOrg’s first researcher in 2007 and now a decade later he’s responsible for the processes and technologies that DiscoverOrg’s research team uses to create and update the data in our industry-leading sales intelligence platform.
His experience includes working at Major League Baseball on research, technology strategy, and special projects. Derek designed multiple data-centric applications for several key departments at MLB, including a secure system used to capture contact information and track movements for international prospects at tryouts worldwide. Much of Derek’s success in baseball stemmed from leading research activities for violations of the Collective Bargaining and Joint Drug Agreements, including the largest drug bust in American professional sports history in 2013.
Derek has a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado, a M.S. in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, and a J.D. from the Ohio State University.
